Abstract
This article reviews the Metropolitan Museum of Art's leg of an exhibition of midcentury women photographers that originated at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. The exhibition features 120 women from 20 countries and covers a range of creative expression, from studio portraiture to fashion and advertising to photojournalism and social documentation to more avant-garde experimentation.
